1. Brief
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), is an acute, characterized by reproductive and respiratory symptoms caused by the Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV). Highly contagious viral infections.
The Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus antigen rapid test card, using colloidal gold immuno-chromatographic method, to detect the antigen against Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus in sample of whole blood, serum and tissue qualitatively. After the sample is added to the sample well, it is moved along the chromatographic membrane together with the colloidal gold-labeled anti-PRRS antibody. If the PRRS antigen is present in the sample, it binds to the antibody on the test line to display wine red. If the PRRS antigen is not present in the sample, no color reaction occurs.

3. Test procedure
3.1 Serum, whole blood
1) Collect whole blood, separate serum (centrifuge at 2000-3000 r/min for 5~15min or separate out naturally at 4℃ overnight), or take whole blood of pig with anticoagulants as sample. Take whole blood without anticoagulants as sample is also OK, but must test it immediately.
2) Open the package, take out test card, put it on clean, flat desk.
3) Use dropper to absorb the sample, adding 2 drops sample into “S” mark well slowly drop by drop.
4) Put it at room temperature for 10-15min, judge the result, it is invalid beyond 15min.
3.2 Tissue
1) Dissect the pig and find the diseased tissue.
2) Cut out a piece of diseased tissue, add about 10 times the volume of normal saline, and homogenize the tissue with the saline with appropriate tools.
3) Be static for 2-3 min, making bigger particles precipitate.
4) Take out test card from sealed bag. Put it on flat surface, use dropper to draw upper-layer bright liquid, drop 2 drops slowly, one by one, to the sample hole with “S” mark.
5) Put the test card at room temperature for 10-15min, read the result, the result is invalid after 15 minutes.
4. Results judgment
1) Positive: control line and test line are both seen wine red;
2) Negative: only control line is seen wine red;
3) Invalidation: control line isn’t seen wine red.
5. Storage and expiry date
Packing: 40 tests/box
Store at 2 - 30ºC and the shelf life is 24 months.
6.Notice
1) Do not use product with broken Aluminum foil bag package. Use test card in 1 hour after taking out.
2) Test the sample immediately after collection, avoid long-storage of sample.
3) Avoid bubble when adding sample.
4) Wear protective gloves when handling samples. After the test is completed, wash your hands thoroughly.
5) Do not use test card out of date.
6) Treat the used test card and sample as pollutants and handle them according to relevant local regulations.
